Who we are
IPC Technical is a trading name of Ben Cooke, a sole trader based in Widnes, Cheshire, UK. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Ben Cooke is the data controller.

your company name and phone number, if you provide them
any details you include when booking a consultation or emailing us

respond to your enquiry
arrange and hold consultation calls
provide quotes and deliver services you've asked for
keep the records we need for accounting and legal purposes
We won't send you marketing emails unless you've asked us to, and we will never sell your information.

legitimate interests, when we respond to enquiries and manage business relationships
steps taken before entering into a contract, when you request a consultation or quote
contract, when we deliver services to you

Who we share it with
We use trusted third-party services to run the business, including Google Workspace (email, calendar and appointment booking). These providers process data on our behalf under their own data protection terms. We don't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't go further: up to 12 months, then deleted
Client records: up to 6 years after our work together ends, to meet tax and legal requirements
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
access the personal information we hold about you
ask us to correct or delete it
object to or restrict how we use it
ask for a copy of it in a portable format
